It’s always a treat whenever you go to Saku! We put our names on the waitlist and was seated promptly when we arrived. They took our order before we got seated and our food usually comes fairly quick after being seated but for some reason it took much longer this time around. They were probably backed up but definitely took 30 minutes and we were starving. I had the Chicken Thigh Katsu Curry which is their fried breaded chicken thigh with signature curry. It comes with unlimited rice, miso soup, and salad. Fantastic value in my opinion. I also got a side Cheese Katsu which consists of fried breaded mozzarella wrapped with thinly sliced pork loin (2 pieces). I always enjoy the food and the unlimited offerings so I never leave full. Definitely a treat since it’s deep fried food.

Probably my new favorite katsu place! I had the “mini” (which was definitely not mini at all) zenbu katsu sampler- so it had a little bit of everything and everything was SO good! I really couldn’t decide which my favorite was. My husband got the special tomahawk katsu and it was delicious as well. Plus free refills on soup and salad, can’t beat it.

Amazing experience. I wanted to try the Richmond location for a while but never had the chance to. Happy to have seen this location and finally tried it. I ordered a cheese loin Katsu, and it was very tasty and high quality. Tom Sushi used to be my fav for this dish but I have a new go-to place for this dish now! The lemonade I ordered was made with real peach and was really good too! Very spacious tables making you feel comfortable to eat.

Had the chicken thigh katsu for a work lunch and it really delivered. The katsu was perfectly crispy and juicy, paired nicely with a refreshing cabbage salad and a rich, comforting pork-based soup. A well-balanced, satisfying meal that felt hearty without being too heavy. Definitely a repeat-worthy lunch

Like I mentioned in my other review at the Robson location, I go there more often since it’s closer to home. But I have to say, I love the food here—it’s actually my favorite location. They really do it well. I always get the platter because I can never decide what I want, and I order a side of curry sauce with it. If I’m sharing with someone, we usually add an extra order of cheese katsu. They make it the best!

Hire Katsu was good. Pork was lean and well cooked. Chicken katsu tasted well too. The free rice and cabbage refills were a great touch. I enjoyed. Surprisingly, lots of families eat here. My friends and I enjoyed too. Tables good for groups. Location by Skytrain and Wholefoods super convenient. Ashe was a good server. Would recommend for lunch.

Saku is a solid katsu place! The meet quality is great tender and the breading sticks nicely to the meat. This is one of my choice picks for katsu so if you are near a saku definitely pay them a visit
